School
With fast urbanization of the city of Mekele and a growing middle class, there is a surge in demand for high standard schools. The development orientedness of Blackbee and the potential of making a reasonable profit from school as a business prompted Blackbee founders to launch a feasibility study for school in Mekele. On top of contributing towards having advanced, responsible, and productive society in Tigrai, the project has been found to be feasible on all financial measures.
The goal of the founders is to build an advanced school in Mekele that will encompass all levels from KG to the secondary level, and that will accommodate about 3600 students. With an estimated investment cost of Birr 164 million to build the first school and construction to last two years, all financial results as are captured by IRR, NPV, Return on Investment and Payback Period are very encouraging. The Diaspora in the USA and other countries will be critical in providing technical and material support to the advancement of the ideals of the school. Currently, the founders are looking for abundant space for construction to cater to the academic, physical, and cultural needs of students. The school will have international standards and will be well customized to local culture, norms, values, and way of life.
