Blackbee is a share company formally established in accordance with the Ethiopian Registration and licensing law. It was formed by 142 founding members in February 2017, with about Birr 13 million fully paid-up capital deposited in a domestic bank. The share company has tasked itself with actively involving itself in various sectors: agro-industrial complex, tourism, real estate, mining, financial services, and others. Currently, the number of share subscribers is about 350.
The founding board and management of Blackbee comprise of accomplished professionals with a rich track record in their respective fields of engagement. The fields cover finance, economic development, accountancy, engineering, and agriculture. Blackbee is set to mobilize the economic, human and technological resources of the Ethiopian Diaspora towards fostering the economic development of the nation while at the same enabling the Diaspora community to create wealth for itself within Ethiopia.

Blackbee, as a corporate group, works closely with extensive network of business ventures operating in Ethiopia, and potentially in other countries, in green and brown field investments. It taps into the huge potential of the Ethiopian Diaspora for expertise, capital and organizational knowhow, while it continuously broadens its engagement by embracing domestic investors. Blackbee seizes upon real opportunities for investment with a special focus on long-term return and viability by adding impetus to economic development, by satisfying demand-supply gaps in the market through innovative mobilization of resources.
